Abstract
A comparison is made between isotropic collision probability and discrete Sn solutions to some one-dimensional neutron transport problems. Difficulties associated with the application of one or the other method in particular situations are discussed in detail. The Sn method is generally superior in cylindrical and spherical geometries and the collision probability method is recommended for slab geometry.
