A method is presented for the solution of the multigroup collision probability equations arising in reactor physics calculations. The method is a block relaxation scheme, involving the direct solution by inversion of the equations for a single group, and it has the conceptual advantage over the successive over-relaxation method that problems without upscatter, which are of interest in fast reactor design, can be solved without inner iteration.en_AU
