An experimental facility to measure the time dependence of neutron Bragg peak intensities, in response to applied high-voltage electric fields is described. The stroboscopic technique with a timing resolution below 20 μs has been applied to study crystals of tryglycine sulphate near its ferroelectric transition temperature and in this paper data are presented showing the response of the (0 6 0) reflection to an applied field square wave at 1 kHz for various temperatures. © 2006 Elsevier B.V.en_AU
