Abstract
The rapid progress in research of cell therapy for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, cardiology and cancer has raised considerable excitement and controversy in recent times. In countries such as the UK, Sweden, Singapore, Korea, Japan and Australia, public dicussion has helped to clarify the regulatory framework for their stem cell research. Unfortunately the controversy continues in the US and is expected to significantly impact on the commercialization of much of this technology. © 2005, Edizioni Minerva Medica
