dc.description.abstract	Welcome to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) 2003 Royal Easter Show display. This year we have chosen a 1950s theme in order to celebrate the anniversary of fifty years of successful nuclear research and development in Australia. On 15 April 1953, The Atomic Energy Act was passed by Parliament. This allowed a program of scientific research and development of atomic energy for peaceful purposes to occur in Australia. Fifty years on, many people remain unaware of the widespread uses and benefits of nuclear based products in our daily lives.	en_AU
