An environmental survey program has been in operation since 1959 at the Australian Atomic Energy Commission's Research Establishment at Lucas Heights, N.S.W. The results for 1975, 1976 and 1977 show that the amounts of radionuclides of AAECRE origin are not greater than the amounts found in earlier years. The possible annual radiation dose to the most highly exposed member of the public, as calculated from the results, represents about one ten-thousandth of that considered acceptable by the NSW Health Commission and the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.en_AU
