Serial data communications network capable of supporting up to 64 send-receive data terminals is described. Each terminal is serviced on a polling basis by a control unit that is interfaced to a minicomputer which has access to the AAEC Multiple User Dataway and its facilities. This serial link was developed to relieve the Dataway of the mundane servicing of slow, byte-oriented, input-output devices.en_AU
