The scientific goals of GAW relate to investigating the role of atmospheric chemistry in global climate change, and include: understanding the complex mechanisms with respect to natural and anthropogenic atmospheric change; and improving the understanding of interactions between the atmosphere, ocean, and biosphere.en_AU
