A simple analytical model is developed which adequately describes the available data on the lattice and macroscopic growth of beryllium oxide under neutron irradiation. This model is then used for interpolation and extrapolation of existing data,, The model has a large number of adjustable parameters and it is emphasised that it does not necessarily bear any direct relation to the actual defect structure.en_AU
