The necessity of duplicating a rig for the analysis of uranium ore was established during the latter half of 1975 and it was proposed that the 6HGR8 facility on HIFAR be used. The new rig (designated X193) was proposed to be basically similar to the uranium ore assay rig previously installed in MOATA but in incorporate any features found desirable as a result of past operational experience, or necessary as a requirement for operation in HIFAR.en_AU
