A theory of neutron spectrometry for a chopper is presented which includes neutron leakage through the rotating slit vanes. Experimental checks of the theory are presented which involve differential spectrum measurements with a chopper on graphite-moderated neutrons from the reactor MOATA. Theory and experiment are in good agreement.en_AU
