Abstract
The Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering at ANSTO hosts a suite of four inelastic neutron spectrometers for investigating dynamics in materials over a variety of energy scales (up to 200 meV) and energy resolutions (down to 1 μeV). The thermal spectrometer, Taipan, has operated as a triple-axis spectrometer since 2010, and more recently from 2016 it has also incorporated an alternative secondary spectrometer, a beryllium filter analyser spectrometer. We will describe the capabilities of Taipan and present some recent scientific highlights. From this we hope to show the versatility of Taipan for measuring both elastic and inelastic data for samples under a wide range of sample environment conditions. © The Authors
