A magnetic tape analysis and copying program, AECOPY, modified for IBM360/370 computers

Abstract

The program AECOPY can be used to inspect and copy IBM360/370 magnetic tapes. The number and length of physical records on the tape and actual records may be printed, and a number of other typical magnetic tape operations performed. The record characteristics and format of input tapes need not be known beforehand, and the type of error handling required may be specified by the user. Input to AECOPY may also be given in free form English from a batch job submitted by the user or by the operator at the computer console.
