Abstract: The facilities provided by LINCAN, a program for use in linear dynamic analysis, are described. These include the calculation of transfer functions from differential equations, the combination and scaling of transfer functions, the use of the Routh Criterion, polynomial factorisation, and the plotting of frequency and time responses. The program is simple to use, and has been tested on systems whose orders exceed 40.
