Abstract
The design philosophy of prestressed concrete pressure vessels is examined with particular reference to the design for a 200MWe H.T.G.C. Reactor. Equations for preliminary design and costing of such vessels are derived, and optimization is demonstrated. Considerable design investigation in the methods used is presented as appendices to the report.
