Abstract
A simple and sensitive method is described for the determination of traces of nickel in sodium metal. The nickel is complexed with potassium cyanide and the absorption measured spectrophotometrically at 268 mµ. Interference of iron and chromium is removed by precipitation of the hydroxides from homogeneous solution. This method should be applicable to a wide range of materials.
