- ItemThe recent progress of polarized neutron scattering techniques at SIKA(Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, 2021-11-26) Yano, SC; Deng, GH; Rule, KC; de Souza, NR; Manning, AG; Peng, H; Wu, CMSIKA, the cold-neutron triple-axis spectrometer is on the CG4 beam port at the OPAL reactor, ACNS, ANSTO. We have reported the capabilities and status of SIKA in the last several user's meetings. In this meeting, we discuss the recent development of polarized neutron scattering experiments on SIKA. A 3He polarization analysis system is available for SIKA. We have performed several user experiments and commissioning experiments in the last two years. We would like to present some results by introducing the techniques we are trying to implement. In addition, we discuss our plan for the polarized neutron scattering experiment on the SIKA. © The Authors
- ItemTaipan – recent results from the thermal spectrometer at ANSTO(Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE), 2020-11-11) Rule, KC; Stampfl, APJ; Deng, GH; Danilkin, SAThe Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering at ANSTO hosts a suite of four inelastic neutron spectrometers for investigating dynamics in materials over a variety of energy scales (up to 200 meV) and energy resolutions (down to 1 μeV). The thermal spectrometer, Taipan, has operated as a triple-axis spectrometer since 2010, and more recently from 2016 it has also incorporated an alternative secondary spectrometer, a beryllium filter analyser spectrometer. We will describe the capabilities of Taipan and present some recent scientific highlights. From this we hope to show the versatility of Taipan for measuring both elastic and inelastic data for samples under a wide range of sample environment conditions. © The Authors
