    Australian uranium resources, development and supply

    The geologically favourable areas for the occurrence of uranium in Australia and the geology of major deposits are discussed as well as exploration programs and expenditures. Australia has no short-term requirement for nuclear power generation and its reserves of 289.000 tonnes uranium, together with the prospects for further discoveries indicate that the country is destined to become a major exporter of uranium. The Government's decisions on the development of the uranium miming and milling industry are outlined and information is given on the plans to bring new projects into operation.
